On 30 November 2021, Prof James MOUANGUE KOBILA, the Chairperson of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission (CHRC), accompanied by a delegation comprising Commissioners Bikoro-Aimé Parfait, Me Balla Joseph Constantin, Denis Nkwebo, the Permanent Secretary Mr Abouem Esseba Jean Pierre, the Chief of Staff of Office of the CHRC Chairperson, the Head of Division of Promotion and Protection on Human Rights, were granted audience by Laurent Esso, the Minister of State, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals (MINJUSTICE), following the letter CHRC Chairperson addressed to him, about the Commission visit to all detention facilities in the 10 Regions of Cameroon and other important and urgent issues about implementing the mandate of the Commission concerning the respect for the right to a fair trial and the setting up of a framework for consultation between the two major actors of Human Rights in Cameroon, the CHRC and MINJUSTICE.
